J. Richard Hamel

J. Richard Hamel, 95, of Tiverton, husband of Constance (Botelho) Hamel, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019.

A US Navy Veteran of WWII, he served on the USS Egeria in the South Pacific where he was also a plank owner. He was the owner of Hamel Sheet Metal in Fall River.

Besides his wife 69 years, he leaves two children, Paula Shaker and David Hamel; four grandchildren, Josef Shaker, Audra Manchester, Andrea Ferreira and Lucas Hamel; three great-grandchildren, Alicia and Jameson Shaker and Lila Manchester and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Barbara Jeanne Ferreira, the brother of the late Marguerite Brennan, Everett, Rev. Raymond, Maurice, Henry and Rita Hamel and the son of the late Wilbrod and Omerille (Lavoie) Hamel.
