Jose F. Duarte

Jose F. Duarte, 75, of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026. He was the loving husband of Maria S. (Rodrigues) Duarte.

Born in Saint Michael, Azores, Jose was the son of the late Manuel and Valentina (Ferreira) Duarte. 

Jose enjoyed being outside, cooking for his family, and fishing. He loved to watch television, especially cowboy movies. Jose was a sports fan; his favorite team was FC Porto. 

Besides his wife of 50 years, he leaves his children, Jorge Duarte (wife Kelly) of Fall River, James Duarte (fiancée Cristen) of Providence, RI and Brian Duarte (fiancée  Gina) of Fall River; grandchildren, Logan Duarte, Luke Duarte, Jacelyn Duarte, Jaymilee Duarte, Zeppelin Duarte, Malakai Duarte, Aiden Duarte and Gianna Duarte; great-grandchildren, Marianna Duarte, Ellianna Duarte and Aubrey Duarte; siblings, Carlos Duarte, Frank Duarte, John Duarte, Sarah Sousa, Lourdes Duarte, Louie Duarte and Filomena Duarte. He was the brother of the late Maria C. Lopes and Manuel Duarte.

His visitation will be held Friday, August 14, from 8:00 to 10:15 A.M.. His Funeral Mass will follow at Good Shepherd Church, South Main St., at 11:00 A.M..

Burial will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery.
