John A. Sabulis

John Alfred Sabulis, 85, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Alfred and Joyce (Lucas) Sabulis.

John was a dedicated member of the Elks Lodge 104 and the American Legion. His passion for woodworking was evident in the beautiful wooden mallard ducks he crafted. An enthusiastic outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting and fishing.

A Navy veteran and submariner, John proudly served as president of the Naval Union for 25 years. 

He leaves his devoted wife of 28 years, Denise (Metivier) Sabulis.

John is also survived by children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home in Fall River. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Barnabas Church, Portsmouth, with burial at St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.
