John L. Quintal, Jr.

John L. Quintal, Jr., born on January 20, 1946, passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 10, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy marked by dedication, humor, and a deep commitment to his family and community.

John dedicated 22 years of his professional life as a Correctional Officer at Bridgewater State Prison, where he was respected for his work ethic and his ability to connect with others. His colleagues knew him not only for his professionalism but also for his great sense of humor; he was well-regarded as a prankster, bringing laughter to those around him.

A proud Army veteran, John exemplified courage and commitment, serving his country with honor. His military service shaped his character and instilled values that he carried throughout his life.

John's personal interests included fishing and playing cards, hobbies that brought him joy and provided opportunities to create lasting memories with friends and family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene A. (Andrade) Quintal, with whom he shared 59 wonderful years of marriage, his son, Brian Quintal, his wife Connie, and his daughter Christine Bazinet (companion Keith Ferreira), granddaughters, Amanda Lameire (husband Matthew), Kendra Victoria (husband Tyler), and Amber Carlin (husband David), great-grandchildren, Madyson, Violet, Callie, and Jameson.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John Quintal, Sr. and Emily (Figueiredo) Quintal. He will be lovingly remembered by his

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass Thursday, May 15, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, North Main St.

Visitation and burial will be private.
