John H. Howarth

John H. Howarth, 73, of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in his hometown of Fall River. Born on June 10, 1952, Mr. Howarth lived a life marked by commitment both to his family and his profession.  A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, John served as an Airman Apprentice.

John devoted 17 years of his career to working at Duro Finishing, where he was known for his skillful operation as a beamer operator. 

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Laurette (Pelletier) Howarth, who stood by his side through the years; his children, Daniel Hankins and his wife Stacie; and Jessica Howarth and her fiancé Michael Pimentel. John was also a proud grandfather to Ryan and Justin Hankins, a step-daughter Christine Hankins, two step-grandsons, Kyle Hankins and Shane LaForest. 

He is further survived by his siblings, Carol Theroux and Michael Howarth; nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. There will be a funeral service in the funeral home during the visitation, at 6:00 PM.

His funeral will take place Wednesday, May 27, at the funeral home, where family will greet guests starting at 9:00 AM. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM for the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, where John will have military honors.
