John J. Furtado, Jr.

John J. Furtado, Jr., 91, of a lifelong resident of Tiverton, passed into eternal rest Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Born in Tiverton, he was the son of the late John and Mary H. (Correia)  Furtado.

A laborer for many years, John also was employed by the Tiverton School Department.

John served his country proudly in the Army as a Korean War Veteran and was a member of Lifetime member of the VFW, Post 5392, Tiverton.  He was also a member of the Ponta Delgada Club.

He was the father of Sandra Greenhalgh and the late John Furtado III; the former husband of the late Ann (Vieira) Furtado; grandfather of Tanya Lee Gordy (husband Albert); great-grandfather of Harley Bass; brother of the late Inez Furtado, Patricia Dagais, Ann MacKenzie and Manuel Furtado.

Burial is private.
