Joan M. Gagnon, 84, of Fall River, Massachusetts, formerly of Barrington, New Hampshire, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2026.
Born in Boston on December 4, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Alvina (Caton) Rogers and the devoted wife of Henry J. Gagnon, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.
Joan lived a life marked by faith, love, generosity, and adventure. Whether serving others, spending time with her family, or embracing life's challenges, she did everything with enthusiasm and determination.
Alongside her daughter-in-law, Kirby Ann Gagnon, Joan co-owned Joan & Kirby's Homemade Confections in Rochester, New Hampshire. Her remarkable talent for baking earned recognition beyond the local community, including creating a birthday cake for Secretary of State Ed Muskie during the Jimmy Carter administration.
Never one to shy away from a new challenge, Joan celebrated her 50th birthday by earning her commercial tractor-trailer driver's license. At age 62, she crossed another item off her bucket list when she went skydiving, proving that courage has no age limit.
Her faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her life. Joan founded and operated the food pantry at Lighthouse Assembly of God, faithfully serving families in need with compassion, dignity, and love. Through her quiet acts of kindness and steadfast service, she touched countless lives and left a lasting legacy of Christian faith in action.
Besides her husband, Henry, Joan is survived by her children: Lisa Carrier and her husband, Kevin; Michael Gagnon and his wife, Kirby Ann; Anthony "Tony" Gagnon and his wife, Joanne; and Natalie Zovinka and her husband, Christopher.
She was the cherished grandmother of Francis Bartoszak and his wife, Bethany; John Bartoszak and his wife, Kalena; Jamie Johnstone and her husband, Sean; Kyle Michael and his wife, Alexandra; Kylie Gagnon and her significant other, Sam Drouin; Michael Stewart; Patrick Gagnon; Emily Gilpatrick and her husband, Mason; Marina Carrier; and Aliyah Carrier and her significant other, Will Trezza. She was the proud great-grandmother of Jason Bartoszak, Arlo Gilpatrick, Amelia Hussey, and Salvadore Clarino. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Ryan Stewart.
Joan is also survived by her sisters, Cynthia Geraci, Irene Barnett, Therese Schenck, Francis Rogers, and Jacqueline Corey, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, July 18, from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main Street, Fall River.
Following the visitation, family and friends are invited to gather for a repast and celebration of Joan's life at White's of Westport.
Joan's family finds comfort in knowing she has heard the words she lived her life striving for: "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
Her adventurous spirit, unwavering faith, generous heart, and unconditional love for her family will be remembered always. Though she will be deeply missed, her example of service, courage, and devotion to God will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know and love her.
