Jimmy Smith

Jimmy A. Smith, FRFD, Ret., 78, of Fall River, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025. He was the husband of Eunice (Simoes) Smith. Jimmy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his service to the FRFD, he served his country as a Lance Corporal in the USMC, earning a Purple Heart in the Vietnam War. Besides his wife, Jimmy is survived by his children, Melissa Boyer (husband Dann) of Swansea, MA, and Eric Smith (wife Jeanne) of Fall River, MA; his grandchildren, Melanie Souto (husband Justin) of Coventry, RI, and Sydney and Corine Boyer both of Swansea, MA; his great grandson, Maverick Souto of Coventry, RI; his siblings, Dennis Smith (late wife Becky Smith) of Phoenix, AZ, and Janice Kunkel (husband Larry) of Crystal Lake, IA and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Wilbur and Helen L. (Steuerwald) Smith. Eunice would like to thank nieces Valerie Mooney and Paula Chretien for all their help.

His Funeral Mass will be private. Please consider donations in Jimmy's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
