James "Jim" "Emmett" Mendes

James "Jim" "Emmett" Mendes, 78, of South Dartmouth, formerly of Fall River, husband of the late Lucille (Normandin) Mendes, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017.

He was employed by Stop & Shop for over 50 years and was a member of United Food & Commercial Workers Union.

He leaves two children, Lynette Barbaza and her husband David of New Hampshire and Raymond "Ray" Mendes of Dartmouth; a grandson, Jacob Barboza; a brother, Avelino "Al" Mendes and his wife Dorothy of Somerset and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Ramiro "Raymond" and Otilia "Hilda" "Tillie" (Reis) Mendes.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Fall Mountain Special Olympics, (check payable to SONH) 650 Elm St., Manchester NH 03101. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Auclair Funeral Home.
