James Thomas Ainsworth, 59, of Fall River, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025.
Born in Fall River, James was the son of the late Eileen Oliveira and James W. Ainsworth.
James was well-regarded for his tenure as a correctional officer, where he exemplified professionalism and integrity. His work allowed him to make a significant impact on many lives within the justice system. Following his retirement, he brought his wealth of experience into the classroom as a metal fabrication instructor at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. His passion for shaping young minds and teaching practical skills resonated deeply with his students, as he dedicated countless hours to mentoring and guiding them in their educational pursuits.
He was a man who found solace amidst the towering trees and tranquil waters, dedicating countless hours to the pursuits of hunting and fishing. These pastimes were not merely hobbies but rather passions that enriched his life and provided him with a deep connection to the earth and its wonders. With every cast of his line and every call of the woods, he enveloped himself in the rhythms of nature, drawing peace and contentment from the experience.
James is survived by his beloved children: son James W. Ainsworth, and daughters Kelsey Tetreault (husband Evan) and Alyssa Ainsworth; his grandchildren, Isabell, Hunter, and Jacob, who were the lights of his life and brought him immense joy; His brothers, Michael W. Ainsworth (wife Joye) and Robert J. Ainsworth (Deborah); as well as his nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, there will be a committal service at Notre Dame Cemetery announced shortly.
James Thomas Ainsworth's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and the enduring importance of family and education. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
