Helen (Hoard) Banville, 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. She was the wife of Robert P. Banville, with whom they shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in California, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Ida (Locke) and William Edward Hoard.
Helen dedicated much of her life to caring for others, first in her long career as a pharmacy technician, serving at both De Villers Pharmacy and Standard Pharmacy. She also worked as a security guard at K-Mart.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Helen found immense joy in her personal life. She was known for her incredible talent in making homemade chocolates, which she lovingly shared with friends and family. Her delightful confections were a sweet reflection of her generous spirit, and many fondly remember receiving her treats with warm gratitude.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her son, Scott Banville; her grandchildren, Mackenzie Banville, Abbie Banville, Ethan DeCosta, Aidan Banville, and Liam Banville; her great-grandchildren, Gianna "G" Banville, and Mia Banville; her siblings, Dorothy L. Wells (husband Everett), and Charles Hoard (wife Joan); and her In-laws, Paulette Masse (husband Maurice). She was the mother of the late Melissa A. DeCosta.
