Gwendolyn Donald, 90, also known as "Ma Bell", of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Gwen was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School.
She was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War Era.
After her service with the Air Force, Gwendolyn joined the Army and the Navy Reserve.
She was employed as a CNA in various city nursing homes. Gwen was proud of her Scottish heritage.
She was active in her church, First Christian Congregational Church, Swansea, living out her faith and dedication to church in an amazing way through the pandemic. Gwen called through the church directory, each night taking a page or two, phoning folks between 6pm and 8pm. Gwen offered a warm welcome, a listening ear, and grace-filled answering machine messages to the church’s members and friends.

She leaves her niece and caregiver, Anna Donald, a nephew, George Donald; 2 sisters, Maggie Donald and Kathleen G. Allard; and other nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Gertrude Donnelly, Paula Barrett, Michael Donald, Manuel Donald, John Donald, Robert Donald, Jay Donald, Alexander Donald and William Donald and the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Barrett) Donald.
Gwendolyn’s funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20, at 1:30 PM at First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 Grand Army of the Republic Hwy, Swansea, MA. She will be buried in Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date to be announced here.
