Guiomar (Machado) Rego

Guiomar (Machado) Rego, 100, of Fall River, passed away at Catholic Memorial Home on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

She was the wife of the late Jose DeMelo and the late Jeremias "Jerry" Rego.

Born in Fenais da Luz, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Rego Machado and the late Etelvina (Ferreira) Machado.

Guiomar was previously employed by the Puritan Clothing Company of Cape Cod. A talented tailor, she sewed for the Kennedy family, as well as for her own family and friends. In her later years, she attended Cornerstone Adult Health Daycare, where she enjoyed participating in activities, spending time with her many friends, and receiving exceptional care from the staff.

She leaves nieces and nephews, including her caregivers Theresa Moniz and her husband Manny and Michael Penacho and his wife Maria; She is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 28 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM, at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
