Gilberto Raposo

Gilberto Raposo, 91, of Fall River, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was the husband of the late Dolores (Leite) Raposo. 

He was the son of the late Manuel S. and Rosa Duarte Raposo, and the brother of the late Anibal S. Raposo (wife, the late Isilda), Maria Fernandes and Ilda Afonso.

Gilberto dedicated his early years to farming before immigrating to the United States, where he continued to embody the virtues of hard work, resilience, and a deep appreciation for life. He was employed by the Foxboro Corporation.

Gilberto enjoyed music, particularly the timeless melodies of John Denver. His love for music provided a soothing backdrop to his life, reflecting his gentle spirit and love for nature.

Gilberto is survived by his loving stepsons, David O. Lourenco (wife Janet) and Gilbert Lourenco (wife Susan), as well as his stepdaughters, Mary McPeters (late husband Billy), Judy Sharon (husband Gary), and Stephanie Torres (husband Dave). He also leaves behind several step-grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

His visitation will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., with a funeral service at 11:00 A.M., at the  Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St, Fall River. Burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St, Fall River.
