Gertrude (Moniz) Konen

Gertrude (Moniz) Konen, 86, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2026. She was the wife of the late Russell Konen.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Gertrude was the daughter of the late Joseph Moniz and Alice (Proc) Moniz. She spent many years in Fall River, where she raised her two sons and worked for the Fowler School before later making her home in Florida.

Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, Russell Konen, and her son, John Konen III.

She is survived by her son, Paul Pereira, and his wife, Marty; her grandchildren, Vanessa, Jessica, Jennifer, and John; and her great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Iris, and Stella.

Gertrude will be laid to rest alongside her late husband and son on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 10:30 A.M., at Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Road, Fall River, Massachusetts.
