Gerald Raymond Pineau (aka Jerry Pineau), 82, of RI, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024. He was the loving husband of Elaine (Gesiak) Pineau, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

He dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to the Newport Naval Base, where his work ethic and commitment made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community.

A proud graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1961, Jerry formed lifelong bonds during his school years, notably meeting his beloved wife, Elaine. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Known for his multifaceted talents, Jerry was a jack of all trades. His skills as a carpenter and craftsman were matched only by his passion for antique cars; he took great joy in refurbishing classic vehicles, a hobby that underscored his keen eye for detail and craftsmanship.

Jerry’s sense of humor was infectious, bringing joy to all those around him. He had a deep love for his grandchildren, living vicariously through their adventures and achievements. Traveling with them brought him immense happiness, creating treasured family memories that will last for generations.

Besides his wife, Jerry is survived by his son Mark Pineau (wife Kimberly), his daughter Lisa Hermenau (husband Walter), and his treasured grandsons Matthew Hermenau (wife Casey), Eric Hermenau, and Ryan Pineau. He is also survived by his sisters, Cecile McGarty and Lorraine Ellis.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Girard and Imelda (Richard) Pineau; and his brother, Richard G. Pineau.

As we remember Gerald Raymond Pineau, we celebrate a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to family and community. His legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
