George M. Giguere

George M. Giguere, 72, of Fall River, formerly of Swansea, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Benfeito) Giguere with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late George J. and Mary (Ferreira) Giguere.

George joined the Swansea Fire Department as a volunteer. He later worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for many years in the Fall River Fire Department.

He was the past exalted ruler of the Fall River Elks Lodge, and President of the Somerset Bocce League. George also served on the Board of Directors for the Bristol County Veterans Association and Lead Organizer for the Soap Box Derby in many communities.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Crystal M. Bennett (husband Ralph), Corey M. Giguere; his grandchildren, Michael J. Bennett, Evie-lyn M. Bennett; and his nephew, Cliffton R. Giguere. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Giguere, and nephew Joseph E. Medeiros.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Auclair Funeral Home at 690 South Main St. Fall River.
