Fred Currier, Sr.

Fred S. Currier, Sr., 80, of Tiverton, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was the husband of Norma (Ferguson) Currier with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. 

Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Fred was the son of the late Lester and Marion (Delano) Currier. 

Fred was a graduate of Bryant University, where he earned his Master of Business Administration. His commitment to education was evident throughout his life as he embraced knowledge and shared it generously with others.

In addition to his academic achievements, Fred honorably served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His dedication to military service did not end with his enlistment; throughout his life, he actively supported military charities, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to veterans and their families.

Fred had a zest for life that extended beyond his professional accomplishments. He was a passionate enthusiast of country music, often finding joy and solace in its heartfelt melodies. An avid collector, Fred took great pride in his collections of war memorabilia, model cars, and sports cards, which offered him countless hours of enjoyment and reflected his diverse interests. Above all, Fred loved watching his children and grandchildren's sporting events. No matter the distance, he would travel to be their biggest fan. 

Besides his loving wife, Fred is survived by his children, Fred S. Currier, Jr., Jennifer Tavares (husband Gregg), and Rachel Andrews; his grandchildren, Benjamin Tavares, Kailey Tavares, Mikayla Andrews, and Mitchell Andrews, IV; his sisters, Shirley Cook (husband Bob), and Linda Currier. He was predeceased by his brother, William Currier (wife Kathy). 

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., with an 11:30 A.M. funeral service, at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St, Fall River. Burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery.
