Frances A. (Machado) Miranda, 80, a resident of Somerset, Massachusetts, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, after a brief illness. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, who affectionately called her Frannie.
She was the wife of the late Armando Miranda.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1963, Frances worked as a librarian at the Newport Navy War College and then at Princess House.
Those closest to her often enjoyed her remarkable cooking skills, as she loved preparing meals for her family, always ensuring that everyone felt welcome and loved. Her time spent caring for her grandchildren brought her immense joy, as she devoted herself to nurturing the next generation with kindness and affection. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing poker with her family.
She leaves a son, MSgt.Steven Miranda, USAF, Ret.,his companion Lori Agnew; a daughter, Michelle (Miranda) Clifford, her husband Honorable Jeffrey K. Clifford; four grandchildren, Tyler Bartlett, SrA. Amanda Bartlett, USAF, Megan Miranda and Diane Viera; great-grandsons Jaison D. Castro and Paul Miranda; three siblings Lauretta Machado, Elaine Kucikas and Kevin Machado.
Frances also leaves nieces Kimberly Coon and Debbie Davey and several in-laws. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lauretta R. (Fluet) Machado.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 2, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a funeral service at 10:00 AM, at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
