Florence B. Fournier

Florence B. (Cantin) Fournier, 92, formerly of Westport, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025. 

She was the wife of the late Aldor A. "Al" Fournier.

Born in Fall River, Florence was the daughter of Eva (Gagnon) and Laurent Cantin.

Florence was a seamtress for many years in the garment industry. Later on, she worked in the deli at "Stop & Shop" in Fall River. She had many customers who would ask for her and wait if she was busy. She was a devoted member of the Allegro Glee Club, where her love for music shone through, bringing joy to many. In quiet moments, Florence found solace in her love for reading, immersing herself in stories that sparked her imagination.

Florence is survived by her son, David Fournier (wife Linda); her step-granddaughter, Amy Messenger (husband Timothy) and their children Owen and Colin; and many nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her siblings, Anita Limoncelli, Annette DeNardo, Andre, Reginald, Lionel, Aime, Marcel, Normand, Raymond and Louis Cantin.

She will be remembered not only for her talents and interests but for the love she shared throughout her lifetime. Her kindness and creativity will leave an enduring mark on all who had the honor of knowing her.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 16 at 10:30 AM at St. George's Church, Highland Ave. Westport.  Burial to follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, Main Rd. Westport.  (There will not be a visitation)
