Edward R. Ouellette, 82, of Tiverton, RI passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Jane Renaud Ouellette, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Lucielle (Desrochers) Ouellette.
He was a 1963 graduate of Bishop Stang High School. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was the 1970 Coast Guardsman of the year awarded at the U.S. Naval Base in Newport, RI. After his service, he worked with his father in the family business Coffee Sam Inc. He attended classes and graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a Degree in Business Management. Ed eventually assumed ownership of Coffee Sam Inc. and ran the company until his retirement in 2024. He valued the relationships he made over his decades running the company his father founded in 1948 . Ed was an active member of Amicable Congregational Church in Tiverton, RI serving on the Board of Trustees.
Ed immensely enjoyed woodworking and caring for the beautiful home he built with Jane. He designed beautiful custom Adirondack chairs for family and friends and was known to be able to fix almost anything. He loved his beautiful koi pond and will be remembered happily feeding his “fishies” in his backyard. More than anything, Ed cherished time spent with his wife, his children, and his cherished grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Jamie (wife Jennifer) and their children Nathan, Rachel, and Jack of Bristol, RI; his granddaughter Molly and her mother Jennifer Braga of Swansea, Massachusetts; a brother-in-law Jim Renaud and his wife Diane of Berkley, Massachusetts; a niece Amanda Renaud and her partner Ricky of Plantsville, Connecticut; and a nephew Kyle Renaud and his wife Shannon of Eliot, Maine. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Matthew Edward Ouellette.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Garey Scholarship Fund at the Amicable Congregational Church in Tiverton, RI or any other charity close to one’s heart.
