Edward Canuel, 83, a husband, father, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Pawtucket, RI. 

Born in Fall River, MA, he was previously employed by Duro Textiles for nearly 40 years as a color mixer. A proud U.S. Army veteran, his interests included photography, New England sports teams, and painting. 

His wife of 56 years, Teresa, predeceased him on December 17, 2025. He is survived by his son, Ed. 

He and Teresa volunteered comforting countless orphaned dogs, and adopted many of them. His best furry friend was his final dog, Max. 

Visitation will be held Friday, March 6th, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with a funeral service to celebrate Edward's life following at 11:30 AM, in the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., Fall River.

Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages considering donations to the Veterans Association of Bristol County (more information at https://thevabc.org) or another organization similarly assisting military veterans.
