Dorothy (Ferreira) Rego

Dorothy “Dottie” (Ferreira) Rego, 93, of Westport, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Tavares) Ferreira and the sister of the late David Ferreira.

Married to her loving husband, Manny C. “Ribs” Rego, on November 11, 1948, they enjoyed 53 years together until his death in 2001.

A strong and independent woman, she loved her life, her family and friends, her home on South Watuppa Pond, music, and dancing. Most of all, she loved doing volunteer work as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, sharing a message of hope from the Bible.

She will be missed by her many friends, her nieces and nephew, and her caregivers at Carvalho Grove Nursing Home.

A memorial talk will be given at a future date at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 615 Fish Rd in Tiverton, RI.
