Doris Pontes

Doris Delia Pontes, 96, was born on September 25, 1928 in Fall River, Massachusetts, and she passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at Somerset Ridge Center.

For 18 years, Doris dedicated herself to her career as manager of Fanny Farmer.

Doris had a large collection of Hummels and she had an adult doll house that was a particular source of pride and creativity. She decorated it beautifully for every holiday and every season, as well as decorating her home. Doris was known for her keen interest in finding treasures on eBay, where she often sought out unique items to enhance her collections.

Doris was devoted to her family. They were a huge part of her life. She enjoyed vacations, family meals, holiday gatherings, shopping, and dining out with various family members.

Doris was the mother of Roger Pontes (wife Pauline), Charles Pontes (wife Sandra), Steven Pontes (wife Maureen), and Christine Dion. She had 11 grandchildren, Jenna LaChance, Amy Verville, Lisa Siniawski, Derek Pontes, the late Kyle Pontes, Jason Pontes, David Pontes, Steven Pontes, Michael Dion, Michelle Adams, and Keith Dion. She also had 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris now joins her beloved parents, Joseph Jasmin and Angelina (Dubreuil) Jasmin, as well as her siblings Gertrude Powers, George Jasmin, Juliette Davis, Lena Courville, Rita Fountain, Norman Jasmin, Lillian Hess, and Raymond Jasmin, in eternal rest.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 Main Street, Fall River. Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
