Doris M. Gadoury

Doris M. (DuGuay) Gadoury, 103, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Clifton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Somerset, Massachusetts. Born on July 31, 1922, in Georgiaville, Rhode Island, Doris lived a life characterized by dedication, love, and service to her family and community.

Doris was a presser employed by Standard Linen Company on Dwelly Street for 15 years, retiring in 1984. Doris was a devoted homemaker, nurturing and caring for her children and grandchildren, always placing family at the center of her world.

Doris served as a Foster Grandmother at the Green School for 18 years in her later years. This role allowed her to share her wisdom and affection with the younger generation, reflecting her generous spirit and commitment to helping those around her.

Her family, who cherished her deeply, includes her children: Dolores M. Furtado and her husband Ronald, Germaine A. Sardinha and her husband Edward, Leo H. Gadoury Jr and his wife Paulette, Robert R. Gadoury and his companion Paulette Proulx, and Paul D. Gadoury and his wife Rosemary. Doris was also the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a great-great-great-granddaughter.  She was the aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Leo H. Gadoury, Sr., and her parents, Horace DuGuay and Amanda (Belmore) DuGuay. She is also reunited with her siblings: Diana Morvan, Eugenie Lawrence, Albertine Damiano, Yvette McLaughlin, Concord Morvam, Aldea Kraus, Horace DuGuay, Paul DuGuay, and Aviel DuGuay.

A visitation will be held Tuesday,  February 10, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, all held at Auclair Funeral Home,  690 South Main Street, Fall River, MA 02721.

Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
