Doreen Lapointe

Doreen Lapointe, 72, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Doreen is reunited with her late husband, Richard P. Lapointe.

Born on December 21, 1952, in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late George Bettencourt, Jr. and Dorothy (Garrity) Bettencourt.

She leaves her children, Richard Lapointe, Darcie Lapointe Silvia, and Jonathan Lapointe; grandchildren Samantha and Sydney Silvia, Hayden, Jack, Mackenzie, and Evan Lapointe. She is also survived by her sister, Dierdre Moniz, and was the sister of the late George Bettencourt III.

She was a passionate individual who embraced life through her hobbies and interests. Gardening allowed her to cultivate not only flowers but also deep-rooted connections with nature. She enjoyed country dancing and had a creative side that flourished in sewing and painting.

Her love for her cherished Yorkie Poo named Bella was another testament to her nurturing spirit. Bella was always by her side, a constant companion and source of comfort.

Family gatherings were made even more special by Doreen's favorite drink—a Casa Amigo Margarita with a salted rim. 

 and her sister, Diedre Moniz, who will carry her memory forward. her brother, George Bettencourt III.

A visitation to celebrate Doreen's life will take place on September 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Auclair Funeral Home in Fall River, Massachusetts.
