Donald F. MacKenzie, 75, of Nichols St., Fall River, husband of the late Ann (Furtado) Mackenzie, died Monday, June 6, 2011. A member of the Fall River Police Department from 1967 to 1980, he served in the Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and was also employed as a supervisor by AMC Construction Co Inc, East Freetown. A member of Massachusetts Police Assn., and the Fall River Police Relief Assn., he enjoyed traveling, dining, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He leaves a daughter, Jori Craveiro and her husband Americo "Mack" Craveiro, Jr. of East Freetown; a brother, William "Bill" MacKenzie of Fall River; grandchildren, Kelsey and Cody Craveiro; Austin and Monique Gaboriau; a son-in-law Gerard Gaboriau of South Carolina; nieces, nephews, and his best friends John Beckum of Mashpee, Ma and Harry Wicht of Culpepper, Va. He was the father of the late Lynne Gaboriau; the son of the late Donald and Inez (Shaw) MacKenzie; and the brother of the late Inez Normile. Donald's family would like to give a special thanks to his recent care givers, Liz Carvalho, Maria Machado, Fatima Garcia and Tonya Nunes. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Name Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Friday 5:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
