Dianne M. (Bernier) Tavares

Dianne M. (Bernier) Tavares, 80, of Fall River, passed away on April 17, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late David Tavares, Sr., with whom she shared 30 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Marie M. (Saube) Bernier.

Dianne spent many years working at Main St. Textile. Beyond her professional life, she found joy in knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed working on word searches while watching anything starring Tom Selleck, Sam Elliot or Don Johnson.

A constant source of comfort and companionship to Dianne was her beloved dog, Coco Chanel, whose faithful presence brightened her days. Her heart was further enriched by the special bond she shared with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dianne is survived by her loving children, Debra Potvin, Joseph Dion (companion Beth Pavao), Lisa Machado (husband Floriano), Rhonda Dion, Kimberly Tavares Oliveira (husband Jason) and step-son Wayne Tavares (wife Debbie); her grandchildren, Jennifer Farber, Cheyenne Potvin, Damien Belanger, Tyler Dion, Jaden Dion, Ryan Machado, Floriano Machado, Jr. , Amanda Machado Galego, Alex Machado, Crystal Jacobs, Desiree Medeiros, Joseph Medeiros IV, Alexie Oliveira, Cailyn Oliveira, Shannon Aguiar, Brianne Brouillard; her great-grandchildren Zayden, Quinn, Lileigh, Colton, Reignah, Hera, Jonathan, Ariella, Makayla, Joseph, Millie, Joshua, Max, Kane, Jacoby and Kyra; her siblings, Simonne Bernier, Claire Camara, Therese Miranda, Donald Bernier; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Jeannette Robichaud, Albert Bernier, and Maurice Bernier.

Dianne's Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, with a visitation from 8:00 to 9:15 A.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St, Fall River. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., at Holy Ghost Church, 316 Judson St, Tiverton. 

Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
