Denise C. Ouellette, 72, of Somerset, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a vibrant spirit that touched the hearts of many.

With a career spanning 22 years as a devoted teacher at Head Start in Fall River, Denise played a significant role in shaping the minds of young children, nurturing them with her patience, wisdom, and warmth. Her passions extended beyond the classroom into her personal pursuits; Denise was an avid fan of antiquing, crafting, and cooking. She poured her creativity into every project she undertook, crafting exquisite items that were cherished by family and friends. Her love for the Boston Red Sox was unwavering, a testament to her spirited personality and her tie to New England culture.

Denise is survived by her beloved family: her son Nathan Ouellette and his wife Naomi; her daughters Andrea Peters and her husband David, and Leann Babcock and her husband Gary; and her cherished grandchildren, Jenna Rodrigues, Maya Ouellette, Travis Ouellette, Grayson Babcock, and Brinley Babcock, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her former husband, Roger N. Ouellette; and her brother Roger Picard and his wife Linda.

Denise was predeceased by her parents, Robert Armand and Cecile (Jean) Picard; and her paternal grandparents, Joseph Aime and Blanche (Le Clerc) Picard, who raised her and laid the foundation of love and kindness that shaped her life.

As we reflect on Denise's remarkable journey, we remember not just the professional accomplishments but also the memories of laughter, her cherished recipes shared around family dinners, and the spirit of encouragement that she carried with her throughout her life. Her presence will be deeply missed but her memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
