Daniel L. Desrochers

Swansea

Daniel L. Desrochers, 62, of Swansea, passed away on Tuesday, December 9 th, 2025. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Rene A. and Eva M. (Levesque) Desrochers.

In his professional career Daniel was a talented engineer at PoroGen Corp., and subsequently Air Liquide Advanced Technologies Corp.,. He designed, built and operated equipment for the testing and qualification of porous polymeric membranes. 

His passion for cars and motorcycles was well-known, as he often spent hours working with engines and sharing stories of his latest rides with friends. He was generous with his time and talents, helping friends and family with odd jobs and auto repairs. 

As a child, he enjoyed the outdoors, frequent walks in the woods with Dad and siblings, and playing pond hockey with friends and family. Known as a hard worker who was quick with a laugh and a light-hearted comment, he was well liked by colleagues, friends and family. He enjoyed holiday and informal gatherings with immediate and extended family.

He especially enjoyed the annual summertime Fall River style clam boil held at his sister Louise’s house. His easygoing manner will be missed.

Daniel is survived by his brother George R. Desrochers and his wife Beth of Georgetown, niece Laura Desrochers Viens and her husband Daniel Viens and children Juliet and Simone Viens of Jamaica Plain, nephew Evan Desrochers and his wife Monica (Wood) Desrochers of Monkton VT, grand nephew Luca (Desrochers) Kopon of Cambridge, and his brother in law John Poirier of North Dighton.

Daniel is predeceased by his sister Louise M. Desrochers and niece Hannah R. Desrochers.
