Claire M. (Viens) Messier

Claire M. (Viens) Messier, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Born in Fall River on February 12, 1931, Claire lived a life rich with love, creativity, and community spirit.

She was employed for many years as a Supervisor at Stella Ann Frocks before transitioning into real estate as an agent with Village Square Realty.

In 64 years of marriage, Claire shared a deep bond with her husband, Warren M. Messier, who stood by her side through all of life's seasons. Together, they built a family steeped in love and laughter. Claire was the loving mother of Betty Ann Sirois, and reveled in her role as a grandmother to her three grandchildren: Jason Paul Sirois (wife Theresa), Keith Michael Sirois (partner Jessica Bacon), and Cortney Jean Waitt (husband Patrick). Her heart swelled with pride at the arrival of her great-grandchildren—Cassidy Sirois (fiancé Jonathan Lindau), Sophia Sirois, Ryder Mooers, Aubrey Sirois, Braylee Sirois, and Truley Sirois—who were a true reflection of her legacy and the joy of her life.

Known for her exceptional skills as a seamstress, Claire lovingly crafted her daughters’ prom dress and designed stunning first communion dresses for her grandchildren. Her creativity was further shared through the founding of Knit Witts, a knitting group that blossomed in her home, fostering friendships and creativity in the community.

Claire was a member of the Westport Yacht Club. Her love for travel shone through during her cherished trips to the beautiful island of St. Martin, as well as many other destinations.

Claire enjoyed skiing and took several trips with her husband and grandchildren to ski at Mt. Sutton in Canada.

She is predeceased by her parents, Emile and Elizabeth (Gleason Viens), and her siblings—Grace Senechal, Joseph Viens, Raymond Viens, Edward Viens, William Viens, and Donald Viens—who surely welcomed her with open arms.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Saturday, February 21st, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with a Catholic funeral service at 11:30 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main Street, Fall River.
