Cesar Cordeiro Duarte, born September 13, 1946 aged 78, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025. He was the husband of Maria (Dos Santos) Duarte.
Born in Covoada, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao Da Silva Duarte and Maria (Cordeiro) Duarte.
Cesar dedicated his life to his career as a skilled yacht builder at Bristol Yachts, where he exemplified craftsmanship and an unwavering work ethic. Beyond his professional pursuits, Cesar was a man of diverse interests and passions. He found immense joy in making his own wine and tended to his garden, which featured a cherished vineyard in his backyard. Cesar took great pride in raising chickens, pigeons, and rabbits, allowing him to immerse himself in the simple pleasures of life and the joys of nature.
A devout parishioner of the former Our Lady of Health Parish, he was deeply involved in the church community, offering his time and talents to various endeavors that enhanced the spiritual lives of those around him. His commitment to his faith was evident, and he fostered connections that enriched both his life and the lives of others.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children: Fatima M. Medeiros (husband Helio "Al" F. Medeiros), Adriana M. Smith (husband Darrin T. Smith), John M. Duarte (wife Kellie-Jo Duarte), Bernadette Cordeiro (husband David S. Cordeiro), and Ceasar C. Duarte, Jr. (wife Amanda Rousseau Duarte); his treasured grandchildren: Brandon Duarte, Hope M. Duarte, Dylan T. Smith, Ryan N. Duarte, Samantha B. Duarte, Ethan L. Duarte, Faith E. Duarte, Tyler D. Cordeiro, Kayla M. Cordeiro, Curtis C. Duarte, and Cecelia L. Duarte; his sisters, Sarafina Cordeiro Aguair, Maria da Conceicao Cordeiro Paiva.
He was the brother of the late Maria do Carmol da Silva Soares, Manuel da Silva Duarte, Joao da Silva Duarte, Jose da Silva Duarte.
His Visitation will be held Monday, September 15, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., Fall River MA.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, September 16, at 9:00 A.M., from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass of Catholic Burial at Espirito Santo Church, 311 Alden St, at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Cesar Duarte’s life was marked by his devotion to family, community, and his countless hobbies. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his talents, and his unwavering positivity that left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
