A hard-working man, he still always found time for his hobbies, including golfing, playing the piano and helping the Portuguese community.
Carlos supported himself and family while in college as a band member of Boston After Dark, where he played the keyboard. He was a Sporting CP fan and was an avid soccer player in his youth. After retiring, he moved to Florida, and was involved in the small Portuguese community there where he served as the president of the Portuguese American Cultural Center in Palm Coast.
