Brian "Soupy" Campbell

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian "Soupy" Campbell, age 40, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Brian leaves behind the love of his life and devoted wife, Jessica Mello-Campbell; his cherished children, Hunter Mello-Campbell, Raven Campbell, and Andrew Jare'k Campbell; and his lifelong best friend, Aaron Doughty, whose friendship was a constant source of support throughout his life.

He is also survived by his brother, Eric Campbell; Deborah Campbell; John Neil Campbell and his longtime partner, Shirley Towne Harrison; his parents-in-law, Maryann Busse and Andrew Busse; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Melisa and Jason Arpin; their children, Ty Couto, Kaiden Soares, and Esmé Arpin; several beloved nieces and nephews; and countless friends whom he considered family and whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.

Brian was known for his extraordinary heart, unwavering kindness, and ability to connect with everyone he met. Those who knew him often described him as a gentle soul who always wanted the best for others. Above all else, Brian was a dedicated husband and a loving father whose family was the center of his world.

Brian embraced life with curiosity, passion, and adventure. He loved baking, especially baking homemade bread, and enjoyed cooking while experimenting with hot peppers and new foods and drinks. He was an avid video game enthusiast and found joy in geocaching, hunting, hiking, gardening, blacksmithing, woodworking, and metalworking. Whether he was tending to his plants, building something with his hands, exploring a new trail, enjoying a favorite game, or taking an impromptu adventure ride anywhere, Brian approached life with enthusiasm and a sense of wonder. A lover of New Hampshire and the outdoors, he was happiest exploring, learning, creating, and sharing those experiences with the people he loved.

Gifted with a brilliant mind, Brian had a remarkable knowledge of biology and a natural talent for growing plants. He possessed an incredible ability to build, repair, and create almost anything from wood or metal. His talents were many, but his generosity and compassion were his greatest gifts.

Even in his final days, Brian continued to think of others. In a selfless act that reflected the man he was, he fulfilled his final wish by donating his brain, spine, and nerve roots to cancer research through Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His contribution will aid researchers in their pursuit of better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for cancer. Brian was also able to donate tissues to support medical education, a cause close to his heart. Throughout his own medical journey, he deeply valued the opportunity for students to learn and grow, believing that education would help improve the future of patient care. His final gifts have led many in the medical and research communities to consider him a true hero.

Brian's greatest pride and joy were his children, nieces, and nephews. He loved spending time with them, sharing stories, teaching lessons, answering questions, and talking about life. His love for them was limitless, and the memories he created with them will be treasured forever.

Though his time here was far too short, Brian leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity, curiosity, and service to others. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Brians visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St, Fall River.
