Brandon Lee Furtado

July 7, 1993 — May 15, 2026

Brooklyn, New York

Brandon Lee Furtado, 32, of Brooklyn, New York , departed on Friday, May 15, 2026. He was a loving partner, devoted friend, and beloved son who will be deeply missed by all who knew him and were touched by his presence.

Brandon was born on July 7, 1993, in Fall River, Massachusetts. From the very beginning, Brandon’s creative spark was undeniable. There was an innate desire to express himself, whether that be through drawing, painting, photography, or writing.

Brandon was a graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, with some College Education.

In 2020, Brandon took a leap of faith and pursued his dream of living in New York City where in his first year he met his partner, Eric. Together they built a life in Brooklyn along with their 2 cats, Bue & Queso. Outside of his home life, Brandon became a familiar and welcoming face behind the bar at his favorite Williamsburg spot, The Levee. Over the years, he grew into a true staple of the neighborhood, forming strong bonds and lasting relationships with his regulars and coworkers alike.

Brandon’s mind never stopped exploring, and he was happiest when he was creating. When he wasn’t working, Brandon could be found with a camera in one hand and a sketchbook in the other; capturing the city, his friends, and the day-to-day moments that inspired him. Music was another component of Brandon’s life, a fundamental piece of who he was, keeping him company through every artistic endeavor, late-night shift, and every quiet moment at home. An avid consumer comic books and media alike, he was considered a comic aficionado and could talk for hours about his favorite superheroes and heroines if given the chance. On top of comics and graphic novels, Brandon also had a love for movies and television. For Brandon and Eric, there was never a time throughout the year when they didn't have a show they were actively keeping up with. He loved the ritual of the weekly release, having that one night a week dedicated to sitting down together, escaping into a great story, and dissecting every episode afterward.

For anyone that met Brandon they were introduced to a buzzing personality that piqued your interest almost immediately. He cared about his friends more than most, always there for them in their time of need no matter what time of day or night it was. If a fellow bartender was having a rough night, he’d make sure to stick around for a full shift despite not being on the clock himself and always making sure everyone got home safely. While he left us too soon, Brandon’s memory will continue to inspire us to be better people and to remain resilient in the struggles that life brings.

He is survived by his partner Eric Condrey of Brooklyn, New York, his Mother Carol Ann (Almeida) Kielbasa and stepfather Jeff Kielbasa of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; his Father Carl Furtado and his Wife Lynn (Nerone) Furtado of Fall River, MA ; his sister Nicole (Furtado) Carvalho and her husband Justin; His Nephew Owen and Niece Lily of Florida; his Grandmother Louise (Bergeron) Valcourt of Fall River, and his late Grandparents Manuel and Nancy Furtado. He leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, the latter of whom he described as “the family we choose”.
