Betty Jo Dopart

Betty Jo Dopart, 92, of Tiverton, RI passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 7th, 2026. Betty Jo was the devoted wife of the late Richard V. Dopart Sr. 

She was the loving mother of Charles Crites (Elaine), Bridget Chaplin (James), and Cynthia Cartin (Bernard), all of Tiverton, April Chaplin (Keith) of Fall River and the late Richard V. Dopart Jr. and the mother-in-law of Pamela Dopart Baker (Paul) of Fall River. She was also the beloved grandmother of Derek Crites, James Chaplin (Melinda), Justin Chaplin (Kimberly), Westley Chaplin (John), Kimberly Cabral (Randall), Alicia Arruda (Ryan), Courtney Cartin (Brendan), Kristen Cartin, Ashley Dopart (Greg), Richard V Dopart III, Cameron Baker (Allison), and Rachel Baker (Dillon). The great grandmother of Shane, Donovan (Briyonna), Blake, Bailey, CJ, Grayson, RJ, Kolbe, Ethan, Hunter, Lyra, Owen, Cillian and the great-great grandmother of Carter. She is survived by her two sisters, Janet Frum and Molly Perry of West Virginia. 

She was a graduate from Ripley High School in Ripley, West Virginia.Betty Jo adored her family more than anything and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. When she was able, she loved being in the sunshine, tending to her gardens, and watching the birds. She always had a bright smile on her face and welcomed everyone with a warm hug. 

She was the pillar of the family, the beloved matriarch, and she will forever be missed.
