Barbara A. Freitas

Barbara A. Freitas, 90, of Fall River, departed this life on Friday, October 3, 2025, with family by her side at home. An embodiment of grace and warmth, she dedicated a significant part of her life to her career as a telephone operator and receptionist at Swan Finishing, where her kindness and poise left an indelible mark on all who encountered her.

She found delight in the simple pleasures of life, from baking her beloved pistachio cake to basking under the sun at the beach. Her spirit flourished during summer weekends spent at the family cottage in Westport, where laughter echoed through the trees. A connoisseur of thrifty finds, Barbara would revel in the expeditions to Savers, discovering treasures that brought her joy.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Susan Stephens (husband Andy), loving son, Charles D. Freitas; and her cherished grandchildren, Melissa Ciosek (husband Kevin), Ian Stephens, S. Freitas and Nicholas Freitas (wife Amanda). Adding to the familial bond are her great-grandchildren, Izaiah, Ian, Myka, and Lincoln, who will forever carry the sparkle of her love within their hearts.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles Freitas; daughter Catherine Freitas, grandson Corey Stephens, her siblings, Brenda H. Doyle and Richard Doyle; and her parents, Joseph E. Doyle and Helen R. (Taylor) Doyle. Their memories remain vivid in the fond remembrances scattered throughout the lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 8, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. Burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
