Barbara (Grant) Ferron, 96, of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. She was the wife of the late Roger A. Ferron with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.
Born on December 12, 1928, Barbara was the daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (Labonte) Grant. She was predeceased by her siblings, William Grant, Roland Grant, Dorothy Jankowski, Robert Grant, Eileen Buchanan, and Madeline Costa.
Barbara was an embodiment of warmth and kindness, known especially for her incredible love of animals, particularly dogs. Her heart was a refuge for all creatures great and small, and many were fortunate to experience the unconditional love she offered. Her adventures in camping with her family were cherished moments—sparkling nights under the stars shared with laughter and stories around the campfire, while the rustling trees whispered the secrets of nature. Those treasured outings not only strengthened family bonds but also painted joyful memories that will resonate for generations to come.
She leaves behind her loving children, Gale Dube (husband Ernest), Debra Harkin (husband Thomas), and William Ferron. Grandchildren, Kristen Bernard (husband Alex), and Brian Harkin (wife Jennifer); and her great-grandchildren, Peyton Bernard and Elinora Harkin, who brought her endless joy. She also leaves her niece and nephews, Carol Costa, Paul Costa, and Thomas Grant (wife Colleen).
Her Visitation will be held Monday, October 27, from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St, Fall River, MA, 02721. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Cathedral, 327 Spring St, Fall River. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Rd, Fall River.
