Alvan G. “Al” Berube, Sr., 88, of Fall River, husband of Carole J. (Pierce) Berube, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Besides his wife of 65 years, he leaves two sons, Alvan G. “Chip” Berube, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth O'Keefe Berube of Raynham, MA and Jonathan J. “Jay” Berube and his

partner Renee Caputi of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren, Rachel Berube of Taunton and Jessica Berube of Huntington Beach, CA; a brother, Richard Berube and his wife Jean of Long Island, NY, and several nieces and nephews including niece Elizabeth Palmer Abdow and nephew Walter Palmer Jr.

He was the father of the late infant Jay A. Berube; the son of the late Wilfred and Anita (L’Archevesque) Berube, and the brother of the late Lorraine Palmer (husband Walter Palmer Sr.)

He served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, was a Fall River business owner for many years, and was a Licensed Real Estate Broker.

Alvan, along with his beloved wife, traveled extensively throughout the world and enjoyed their vacation home on Nantucket Island for many years. 

A staunch and active believer in physical fitness, he remained athletic his entire

life. He was a member of the Aeronautical Model Airplane Club and built several model airplanes that he flew as a hobby. He was also a model train enthusiast. Above all, Alvan cherished his time with his wife and family. 

His funeral and burial will be private. A celebration of his life will be held in warmer weather.
