Alphonse R. "Al" Archambault, 90, formerly of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at his home in North Carolina on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
He was the beloved husband of Yvette (Morel) Archambault, his partner, best friend, and the love of his life for 71 years. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and unwavering devotion to one another. Whether sharing a dance, attending church, or simply enjoying each other's company, Al and Yvette found their greatest happiness together. In his final years, he was most at peace when by her side, a testament to the deep bond they shared throughout their marriage.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Horace and Alexandrine (Bergeron) Archambault. Al proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, he attended college, continued working, and eventually built his own home in North Dartmouth. After retiring, he put his home improvement skills to work enhancing the homes of his three children.
Al and Yvette were active members of St. Christopher's Church in Tiverton, and Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Al enjoyed working with his hands, and his keen eye was always searching for a project that could make daily life easier or more efficient. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, selflessness, sense of responsibility, and the example he set through a life of hard work, humility, and love. His greatest legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the countless ways he made their lives better.
Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Wayne Archambault and his wife, Shirley, of Richmond, Texas; his daughters, Denise Souza and her husband, Jerry, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Nadine Strong and her husband, David, of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
He also leaves his grandchildren, Danielle Archambault, Christopher Archambault, Rachel Souza and her husband, Cory Edwards, Kristopher Catterall and his wife, Eva Badra, Emeline Black and her husband Braden, Wilfredo Martinez and his wife, Cathy; and his step-grandchildren, Alicia Strong and Nicole Strong.
He was the proud great-grandfather of Madison Horne, Brady Roberts, Caden Roberts, Piper Edwards, Asher Edwards, Tonicha Martinez, Marcus Martinez, Alanna Martinez, Leila Catterall, Matilda Catterall, and Nadia Catterall.
Al's family would like to express their gratitude to all who provided care, comfort, and friendship throughout his life.
