Pastor Fred Ferreira, devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at the age of 81.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gail, who was his best friend and everything in this world. Together, they shared a bond built on faith, love, and unwavering devotion. He is now reunited in heaven with his oldest son, Daniel Ferreira. He is also survived by his daughter Laura Sampson and her husband Todd, his son Jonathan Ferreira and his wife Rita, and Sara Rasmussen, who he considered a daughter, and her husband Razz. His cherished grandchildren, Corinne and her fiancé Devon, Timothy, Olivia, Madison, Emma, Jackson, Hazel, Layla, and Kiera, were the center of his world. He was filled with excitement about becoming a great-grandfather to baby Zoelle.
Freddie was selfless in every way, always putting others before himself, and giving his time, heart, and attention without hesitation. He was the perfect father, the perfect grandfather, and a true man of God. He was a retired pastor of Third Baptist Church, where he faithfully served in various capacities for over 50 years. Through his ministry and his work as a family counselor, he offered comfort, wisdom, and strength to generations of individuals and families. He impacted countless lives with his compassion and understanding. Freddie had an extraordinary gift for seeing people exactly as they were, meeting everyone with empathy, grace, and without judgment. His heart was open to all.
Freddie loved spending time in New Hampshire with his wife Gail, making it their favorite getaway multiple times each year. When he learned he had terminal cancer, his granddaughter Corinne welcomed him into her home. Over the past year, he often said he was living the best time of his life. He traveled to Aruba twice, spent Thanksgiving with family in New Hampshire, and visited New York, creating joyful memories filled with love, laughter, and good food, which he dearly enjoyed.
He never lost his sense of humor or his calm, steady presence. One of his last conversations was with his youngest granddaughter, Hazel, as they talked together about God and heaven, sharing the peace and faith that had carried him through a life well lived.
Freddie will be remembered for his love, his light, his faith, and the way he made people feel seen, heard, and deeply valued.
