Afonso L. Pimentel

Afonso L. Pimentel, 83, a devoted family man and talented furniture upholsterer, passed away on February 28, 2026, at Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts. He was born on October 21, 1942, in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, where he served in the Portuguese Army.

Throughout his life, Afonso was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his work as an upholsterer at Alperts Furniture, where his skill and artistry brought comfort and beauty into many homes. His warm personality and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Afonso possessed a deep love for his family, providing support and guidance throughout their lives.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ana M. (Carvalho) Pimentel, with whom he shared a loving partnership for 59 years. Afonso was the father of Ronnie Pimentel and the late Paul Pimentel, father-in-law of Clara Pimentel, and grandfather of Ashlin and Victoria Pimentel.

He also leaves a niece Lucy Branco, as well as several other nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers.

Afonso was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Pimentel and Libannea (Mello) Pimentel.

His memory will be cherished by his family, who will honor his legacy of love and dedication in their lives.
