Ryan Joseph Dunn, 33, long time resident of Berkley, currently residing in Fall River, passed away
unexpectedly Thursday, November 24 th, 2022.
He was the beloved son of Robert Dunn and Elizabeth (Faria) Dunn. Besides his parents, Ryan leaves his
two children, Jameson and Marina, companion Dana Hopwood, and her daughter Kaylee. Also surviving Ryan are sister, Shauna (Dunn) Baker and her husband Keith of Somerset; brother Joshua Treeful of Attleboro; niece Sierra Baker and nephew Jack Baker. He is the grandson of Barbara (Viens) Emond of Fall River, late Dorothy (Costa) Faria and Eleuterio Faria of Fall River. He leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ryan was educated in both Catholic and public schools, graduating from Somerset-Berkley Regional High School in 2008. While at SBRHS, he played on the wrestling and football teams. He served in the Army in D. Co 2 nd BN 503 rd INF 173 rd ABCT from 2009-2010 in Kunar Province and Wardak Province Afghanistan.
As a dedicated soldier, Ryan was instrumental in the platoon’s ability to successfully complete over 600 humanitarian and combat patrols during Operation Enduring Freedom. His courage and continued motivation led to the success of his company’s mission. He was employed by the Massachusetts Department of Corrections where he worked as a Correctional Officer for the last 8 years. Co-workers would describe him as a loyal friend and were proud to work alongside him.
Ryan enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children who brought so much joy and
happiness to his life. He was a quiet and kind soul who loved fiercely and always put his family and
friends first.
His hobbies included fishing, daily workouts, cheering on his favorite football team, the Patriots, and
listening to podcasts. Ryan was well known for his love of pepperoni pizza, coffee milk, and gave the
best bear hugs.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 30, from 4:00 PM to 8:00-PM P.M. in the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So.Main St.Fall River.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, December 1, in the funeral home, at 11:00 A.M.
Burial with military honors to follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
