Patrick Hiram Micken, 76, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2002. Nevertheless he persisted … for 17 years.
He will be fondly remembered for his caustic wit and his delight in puns and word play.
His lifelong love (sorry, Kathy) was the Pittsburgh Pirates—even in their losing seasons. He dedicated many years of his life to nurturing and mentoring generations of students and debaters at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Shirley Micken, his sister Marguerite Micken, and many nieces and nephews, inlaws and outlaws.
Instead of a service, Patrick requests that you go to your favorite restaurant, eat your favorite meal, and toast him with your favorite libation.
