Gilbert A. "Gil" Howard

Gilbert A. "Gil" Howard, 75, of Swansea, husband of the late Marcelle "Marci" (Maynard) Howard, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019.

            A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a service manager for General Motors and Mack Truck in Boston and Peterbilt in RI and ended his career with a small home repair and landscaping business. He was a member of the Town of Swansea Planning Board and the Advisory Board of Mechanics Department in Bristol Agricultural High School. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, riding his tractor and tinkering in his garage.

            He was the loving father of three children, Shawn Howard and his wife Susan of Rehoboth, Stacy Surrell and her husband Stacey of Swansea and Scott Howard and his wife Jennifer of Swansea; cherished grandfather of Hannah, Rebecca, Kimberly and Sarah Howard and Jacob and Jayna Surrell; beloved brother of Del Howard and his wife Lynn of Fall River and Angie Pontes of Fall River and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Arthur and Concorde (Michaud) Howard.
