Gabriel S. Cordeiro

Gabriel S. Cordeiro, 73, of Fall River, husband of the late Joana B. Cordeiro, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019.

          Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, he was a fisherman in Portugal for many years. He worked for Tilston & Pearson in Fall River, Blue View Farm Landscaping and Pediatrics Assn. for 21 years as a custodian. He was a member of Santo Christo Parish and a soccer player for various local teams. He loved to fish, play dominos, garden, but most of all, loved and adored his family and grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

          He leaves two children, Gabriel "Gabe" Cordeiro, Jr. and Lucy Delemos and her husband Marcos, all of Fall River; two grandchildren, Richard Elton "Ricky" Souza, Jr. and his companion Andrea Oliveira and Ashley Souza and her companion Austin Medeiros; two great-grandchildren, Landyn Gabriel Souza and Lorenzo Nelson Souza, four siblings, Odilia Medeiros, Irene C. Papoula and Mary Cordeiro all of Fall River and Joe Cordeiro of Somerset and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Nancy Cosme, the brother of the late Belmira Branco, Emelia Perreira, Maria dos Anjos Aguiar, and Elizabeth, Venilde and Dimanatina Toca and the son of the late Gabriel and Eliza (Soares) Toca.

          His funeral will be held Friday at 8:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass at Santo Christo Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick's Cemetery.
