Elston F. Smith

   Elston F. Smith, 91, of New Bedford, husband of Rev. Patricia A. (Wood) Smith, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019.

    Owner and operator of Elston Smith Floor Covering, he was a lifelong Episcopalian and a member of the Spirit of Christ Church.

    Besides his wife of 68 years, he is survived by three sons, Paul E. Smith and his wife Diann of Weare, NH, Peter F. Smith and his wife Nikki of N.C. and Timothy le Jacq-Smith and his wife Christine of Westport; five grandchildren, Eric, Ian, Devon, Benjamin and Sophia; two siblings, Raymond Smith and his wife Maryanne of Riverside, RI and Walter Smith of Cranston, RI and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Scott A. Smith, the brother of the late Carol "Kelly" Smith and Florence Soderland and the son of the late Francis E. and Florence (Moore) Smith.

    A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 AM at Amicable Congregational Church, 3736 Main Road, Tiverton, RI 02878.
