Kathleen Lucas, RN , age 63, of 259 Prospect St, Fall River, MA died Friday, May 11, 2012, at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Lucas for 40 years.

Born March 8, 1949 in Newport, RI she was the daughter of Helen and the late James F. Ring. She lived in San Diego, CA and Vienna, VA before returning to Newport in 1965.

She was a 1966 graduate of Rogers High School in Newport and trained and graduated from The Rhode Island School of Nursing. For 37 years thereafter she was a devoted, caring and respected nurse at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.

Survivors besides her husband are her mother Helen (Honeycombe, Ring ) Gallant – Lasher (husband Donald Lasher) of Tucson, AZ and Ft. Johnson, NY. Her daughters Michelle (husband Joseph) Dumais and Deborah A. Lucas, both of Fall River. Her grandchildren Amanda Kathleen Souza, Charles James “CJ” Dumais and Schuyler Dumais, all of Fall River. Her brothers James F. Ring, Jr (wife Maria) of San Diego, CA; Michael Ring (wife Jean) of Tucson, AZ; Peter Ring (wife Jenelle) of Mill Valley, CA; and sister Eileen Ring of Burrillville, RI. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, the funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Theresa Church, Stafford Rd, Tiverton, RI. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River, MA.
