Theresa (Paradis) Brodeur, 87, a funeral director and embalmer with the former L.O. Paradis Funeral Home, Pleasant St. Fall River; formerly of Falmouth, MA and Portsmouth, RI, passed away at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol, RI after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Fall River on May 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late JE Amedee and Anna (Gendreau) Paradis; and the wife of the late Andre J. Brodeur, who passed away in 1984

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, she worked with her father at the L.O. Paradis Funeral Home. She then went on to become a licensed real estate agent in Massachusetts.

Theresa is remembered as a true animal lover, having poodles and cats prior to her the onset of her illness. She also loved gardening and always had beautiful flowers in her gardens. She will be missed for her kind and gentle manner.

Survivors include three nieces, Susan Connor of East Dennis, MA, April DaQuay of Portsmouth, RI and Shelly Audet of St. Cloud, FL; a great nephew, Marc L. DaQuay and his wife Janessa LeComte-DaQuay; and a great-great niece, Jessleanna LeComte DaQuay, all of Portsmouth. She was the sister of the late Mrs. Robert (Beatrice) Mailloux and Mrs. John (Gertrude) Lawrence.

A private funeral service was held on Wednesday from AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, Fall River, with burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Donations to Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840, appreciated.
